Hire Pre-Screened International Workers for Your Ontario Operation
Farmhand places workers from El Salvador and within Canada for food processing, construction, and agricultural operations. Two streams available — choose what fits your timeline.
Our Services
For employers who need workers on a longer-term basis. We source, screen, and coordinate pre-screened workers from El Salvador under the federal Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Workers are placed under one-year low-wage work permits with renewal options. The LMIA process begins immediately upon signing — workers arrive approximately 6–9 months after your agreement is signed.
This stream is ideal for: food processing plants, construction contractors, greenhouse and nursery operations, and any employer needing reliable, committed workers for ongoing roles.
Stream A — Step by Step
Step 1 — Inquiry & Agreement
You contact us, we assess your needs, and we sign a recruitment agreement. A 50% non-refundable deposit is collected at this stage. This triggers our engagement with our El Salvador partner.
Step 2 — Job Posting & LMIA Preparation
Your operation advertises the position on Job Bank and two additional channels for 8 consecutive weeks — a federal requirement before LMIA submission. We refer you to our licensed immigration consultant partner who prepares your LMIA application.
Step 3 — ESDC Review & Approval
Service Canada reviews and approves the LMIA. This takes approximately 3–5 months. We monitor progress and keep you informed.
Step 4 — Worker Visa & Travel
Once the LMIA is approved, your selected worker applies for a Canadian work permit. We coordinate travel and arrival logistics. The remaining 50% of your recruitment fee is collected at this stage.
Step 5 — Worker Arrival & Onboarding
Your worker arrives in Ontario ready to begin. We provide pre-arrival communication and onboarding support.
For employers who need workers now. We place individuals already legally in Canada — open work permit holders and permanent residents — with no LMIA required. Workers can be on-site within days of your request.
Flat rate: $22.50/hour
Invoiced weekly. We manage timesheets, onboarding, and replacements. No LMIA fees. No government processing delays.
This stream is ideal for: employers with immediate vacancies, operations that need labour while their TFW LMIA is being processed, or any employer who needs flexible short or long-term staffing.
Accepted payment methods: E-Transfer, Direct Deposit, Cheque, Credit Card (2.9% processing fee applies)
The $1,000 LMIA government fee is paid directly to ESDC by the employer and is not included in Farmhand's recruitment fee.
